Weekly Bloxwich NHT Message

Dear all,

Here’s a resume from me and the rest of the Bloxwich neighbourhood policing team regarding what we have done.

We have recently conducted a series of police surgeries across various locations, including a successful session at the local library, where we had the opportunity to engage with the community. We also participated in a police surgery at Dudley Fields Community Centre in celebration of International Women's Day. Additionally, we hosted a "Walk and Talk" event, where we patrolled the area, interacted with residents, and addressed community concerns.

Furthermore, we marked the third week of our Junior PCSO program at Abbey Primary School, continuing our efforts to foster positive relationships with the younger generation and ensure a safer community. We recently held a successful police surgery at ASDA, where we distributed crime prevention materials and engaged with many individuals interested in learning how and where to report crimes. We provided essential guidance on the reporting process, strengthening community connections and promoting crime prevention awareness. We plan to host more events in the near future.

Our officers recently executed a targeted warrant as part of an ongoing effort to combat drug dealing within our local area. In addition to this operation, we provided vital support to another team carrying out a similar initiative in the region. These coordinated efforts demonstrate our commitment to addressing the serious issue of drug-related crime and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our community. By working collaboratively with other teams, we are strengthening our approach to tackling criminal activity and enhancing the effectiveness of our enforcement actions.

Throughout this week, our team successfully apprehended two offenders as part of our ongoing efforts to tackle crime within the community. One individual was arrested in connection with a fraud investigation, while the other was taken into custody for shoplifting. These arrests reflect our proactive approach to addressing various types of criminal activity, ensuring that those who undermine the safety and security of our area are held accountable. Our commitment to maintaining a safe environment remains steadfast, and we will continue to work diligently to address criminal behaviour across all sectors.

For improved house safety, always ensure that all doors and windows are securely locked when you leave your home, even if it’s just for a short period. Consider installing motion-sensor lights around your property to deter intruders, and keep valuables out of sight from windows. If possible, invest in a security system or a smart doorbell to monitor activity around your home. Additionally, get to know your neighbors and look out for each other's properties. A well-lit, well-maintained home is a less attractive target for criminals.
